Sierra Dorada Gold Mine Expansion — our flagship investment in Peru's Cajamarca region, completed in 2025.
All Projects
Sierra Dorada is the largest single investment in LCH Holding's history. Acquired in 2016 as a mid-scale operation in Peru's Cajamarca region, the mine underwent a three-year, $340 million expansion completed in 2025 — adding a second open pit, a modernised processing plant and a doubled tailings management facility built to the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management.
The expansion raised annual production from 85,000 to 140,000 ounces while cutting processing costs per tonne by 18%. A dedicated 60 MW solar plant built by LCH Energy now covers the majority of the site's daytime power demand, and our logistics division manages the secure doré transport chain from the mine gate to our Swiss refinery.
More than 1,100 people work at Sierra Dorada, 92% of them hired from the surrounding region. Alongside the industrial works, LCH funded a new technical training centre, upgraded local water infrastructure and committed to progressive rehabilitation of all disturbed land throughout the mine's life.
